On Friday, Michael picked up a $2.99 bottle of sparkling wine at the San Mateo Trader Joes. The label says:
Blanc de Blancs
French Sparkling Wine
So we chilled it and drank it up last night.
Lots of bubbles. Color was so pale it was almost clear. No acid. No yeast. Very light.
Its not overly sweet so it would be a good candidate for making a mixed drink - mimosa, bellini, cypress, float, etc.
Since its so inoffensive and goes down easily, it would be good for large parties or for the obligatory champagne toast at a wedding (where you KNOW half the people don't care/don't like/don't know good champagne).
Anyway, at $2.99 we will definitely get a case since we're big fans of Sunday Brunch.
