Titusville, Deerfield Beach and Naples Trip Report

Hi all,

Just got back from a fabulous vacation to these cities. We were travelling with our infant daughter so we tended to avoid any real fancy restaurants. But, we did have some delicious meals (mostly lunches) at the following restaurants. Thanks to all for your input.

Titusville
-----------
Dixie Crossroads: had a delicious meal of rock shrimp at this very busy and reasonably priced restaurant. We ordered the shrimp broiled and they were fabulous. The shrimp came with these yummy deep fried corn fritters.

Other: There weren't too many other restaurant options in this town. There was a Cracker Barrel beside our hotel so we ended up there another night.

Deerfield Beach
--------------

The Whale's Rib: had some delicious oysters and lobster salad with their signature whale fries. Unfortunately, DH and I got terrible food poisoning 24 hours later so we think the oysters were to blame! Beware...

Wolfie Cohen's Rascal House, Boca Raton: Enjoyed the goulash soup and pastrami sandwiches at this institution. The half-sour pickles and cucumber salad that came free were also delicious. For dessert we got some prune hamentashen and they were very good.

Cafe Mineiro/Brasliced: We had a simple, inexpensive yet tasty Brazilian lunch in the Cove shopping plaza at Cafe Mineiro. We walked over to Brasliced in the same plaza for some delicious Brazilian sucos (fresh juice smoothies).

Pusser's, Fort Lauderdale: We had to eat at this resto since DH and I honeymooned in the BVIs and ate at the original Pusser's in Tortola. The macadamia-nut crusted goat cheese salad with papaya dressing is to die for!

Naples
-----------

Tropical Reef: this was my favourite restaurant. The hot and crunchy grouper is fabulous. The pulled pork sandwich is also very good as was the lobster roll. I wish we had room for the cheesecakes they sell next door! The brunch dishes also looked very good.

Riverwalk: This Tin City restaurant on the water was very pleasant. We all ordered the grouper tacos and enjoyed them.

Maxwell's on the Bay: This restaurant overlooking the bay was a bit pricy but the food was tasty. We enjoyed the lobster salad and Cuban sandwich. The stand-out dish was the grilled walleye with mashed cauliflower. Outstandig!

Gumbo Limbo: Had a snack here at the casual outdoor eatery at the Ritz Carlton. The view of the Gulf and setting is fantastic -- very tropical. We enjoyed the coconut shrimp and key lime pie.

Napoli Pizzeria: Got some take-out pizza, soup and salad on our last night. The pizza was very tasty -- especially the spicy tomato sauce.

Thanks to all for your great suggestions.
