My husband, two sons and a son's friend ate at Timo last evening and wanted to report back. As a preface, I had eaten at Timo in the summer and really enjoyed my meal.
Nothing was bad per se, but most of the food didn't stand out in any way. We won't be runniung back. For starters, my husband and 20 year old had Caesar salads- nothing to write home about. My 18 year old son had the spinach, shrimp and pesto gnocci which he loved. My son's friend and I had the heirloom tomato salad with goat cheese. The presentation was beautiful, but the goat cheese was more like a tough brie, than a soft goat.
For our mains, my husband had a skirt steak which he liked, my 18 year old had a margareta pizza which he found stringy. My 20 year old had a sausage and broccoli rabe pizza which he didn't love and didn't finish which is very unusual. My son's friend had the red snapper which she liked, but didn't go gaga over. I had the branzino which had absolutely no taste; I was really disappointed. On the basis of our server's recommendation, I ordered the eggplant with provolone as a side. It was heavy and tough.
