Recent server crashes (and general mumblings I've picked up over the past few months) lead me to believe that Chowhound.com may need some help to get up and stay up (and maybe make some programming modifications, such as a more comprehensive search function).
My understanding is that a relatively small group of individuals is responsible for keeping the board functional -- and my sense is that they may very well absorb some of the financial cost as well.
Hope I'm not talking out of turn, but maybe we should start thinking about a concerted effort to generate contributions, get the funding that's required, and keep the board buzzing. Some of us make random contributions to the cause now and again, but maybe we need to take a more comprehensive approach to fund raising.
I don't have anything like master plan here, but I think this is a point worth discussing.
