We had a great time at ZenChi in Studio City last night. It's a serene place, with a life-sized Buddha statue at the entrance and soft lighting. All three of our dishes were great. We started with the sesame beef satay, which was the most tender version of that dish we've had. After that we shared the Indonesian crab cakes. The plate was huge, with three large and tasty crab cakes over a mountain of mashed potatoes. The standout, though, was the curry-ginger sweet potato fries. Do not hesitate to order them if you go. They were light and crisp and the combination of flavors was off the charts. The service was also very friendly. Next time we'll try the hamburger. If it tastes as good as it looks, it's a winner.
