Thanksgiving Weekend in NYC

GregJ | Oct 26, 2001 04:35 PM

On September 12th our 16-year old daughter announced that "we should spend Thanksgiving in New York!" And so we shall. The only place I'm set on (for lunch on Saturday, assuming it's open) is Union Square Cafe. We're going to a show on Wednesday night, so will do a pre-theatre thingee near Broadway. Thursday we're cooking our own bird (or a piece of one, anyway). So that leaves Friday and Saturday dinners. We're staying near 50th St and 3rd Ave and want to walk wherever we go to eat. My spouse wants Italian one night....Felidia? I want French the other night...Lutece? I see The Leopard is still open on 50th St. We ate there 20 years ago and thought it was pretty good then. It must have something going for it to have lasted this long in the greatest restaurant city in the USA. Cheers! Greg/Washington, DC
