Im going crazy trying to think of a place for one of my birthday dinners. This will be on the Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend, and it will be me + husband + my parents who are in their 70s. Location can be anywhere between Santa Monica/Venice and downtown. Open to any type of food.
(Yes, I know that Thanksgiving weekend isnt the best restaurant weekend, but thats when my birthday is. At least my actual birthday isnt on Thanksgiving this year, like it is some years.)
***Two important caveats: 1) my stepmom has hearing issues, so the restaurant cant be too noisy, but it has to be fun, not stuffy; and 2) the restaurant must have hard liquor, as the folks are into Scotch and martinis, not wine.
Last year we went to Josie, the year before to Grace. Id like it to be less expensive than those, if possible. Husband is taking me to Providence separately, so thats out. We recently went to Lucques for Sunday night supper with the folks, as well as to The Grill on the Alley, so those are out, as is Jiraffe since husband and I recently dined there.
Ive thought of Chameau but am wondering how noisy it is. Also, I havent been to Jar since the remodel, and per the website the prices are fairly high - is the food worth it?
Thanks for any suggestions.
