Thai 101 in Bklyn Heights: report

I had somewhat high hopes for this place after reading the rave on here, but alas it SUCKED.

First we got a spring roll which was very bizarre - a super thick wrapper with some carrots and cucumber inside, and no taste whatsoever.

When we ordered the green papaya salad, we asked if they could substitute something for the squid. They substituted scallops, which were browned on the outside but freezing cold on the inside - still partially frozen, in fact! Besides t hat, the salad was utterly bland. My friend was right when she called it "an abomination."

The pad thai was a sticky sweet mess. The only decent thing was a vegetarian duck curry, but the portion was small and the dish was somewhat one-dimensional - and with no spiciness even though we asked for it "very spicy."

It took us over a half hour to get our check, too.

I will never, ever go back to this place!
