I'm looking to take my husband out for barbecue for his birthday. He's not a Texan, he's from Connecticut, so while he's had good meat before (I take him home every once in a while), he doesn't quite understand the environment (i.e., picnic tables and byob aren't a bad thing).
So I'm looking for some barbecue I can take for me and a more urban? upscale? hip? you know what I'm talking about environment for him. I think he wants to go to Smoked in the East Village.
Any place else we ought to look? It can be old, but it can't be Virgils. And if Smoked serves their greens in little souffle dishes, I'd like to know that too, please, before I get there and have to laugh.
