2004 Gewurztraminer Clos des Capucins, “Cuvée Laurence,” Domaine Weinbach (Alsace, France): Straw gold in color, clear and brilliant to the eye; the heady aromas of Gewurztraminer fill the glass in the very forward, opulent wine, combining rose petals, jasmine, lichee fruit, honeysuckle and spice; on the palate, this wine is medium-full in body, round and lush, with generous flavors that spread across the palate with an almost oily texture, yet the wines acidity and structure prevent this wine from becoming flabby or cloying; the finish is exceptionally long, lingering and flavorful. Superb!
