Tarbaya (Turkish) disappoints

We were more or less in the neighborhood and stopped by Tarbaya (2nd ave btw 20th and 21st) for dinner. This turkish place has gotten some positive press, but we were very dissappointed. The salad and eggplant appetizer were nothing special, and the main dishes were bland -- we had chicken "chops", adana kebab which didn't have much flavor, and a very so so iskender (here called alexander) on extremely soggy pita bread. The rice was good, but certainly not good enough for a return trip. I even liked Turkuaz on the Upper West Side better, and it is a decidedly mixed bag.
