A new restaurant opened in Tribeca, in the space that was Flor de Sol.
The menu is a step up from what Flor de Sol had. They have "plancha" dishes, the "toothpick" dishes ,the old school tapas like croquettes, chorizo, shrimp in garlic sauce, marinated anchovies, patatas braves, pollo villaroy, shrimp villaroy, they have cured meats, and many larger dishes like paella, and fish and meat entrees.
Boqueria, Casa Mono, et al have more creative dishes and better prepared. But the food is good at Tableau. It is good news for Tribeca to have a good tapas/Spanish restaurant with reasonable prices.
The restaurant is brighter than Flor de Sol. It is busy, and I think some of the same people. I'm not sure if it is the same owners and they just did an overhaul of the menu and the restaurant. I think it opened 2 months ago.
