Chagrined by my failure to order sushi at Ginza yesterday, and spurred on by a husband jealous of my lunchtime Japanese experience, I ordered food from Tank Sushi last night (they deliver).
My husband is the real sushi fiend in the family - and he wasn't impressed - said that the fish, for the most part, lacked taste. I am easier to please, and thought the fish was fresh and the portions large (although I didn't disagree with him about the taste).
The real issue with the place is that it's really a Latin-Japanese fusion type of place. So...the soy sauce they provided was sweetened!!! And the edamame came with chili powder sprinkled over them - totally unnecessary, in my book. Gyoza were normal, and quite tasty. menu items like ceviche and entrees served with mango salsa may make for an interesting and different dining experience, however.
Another issue is that they adhere to the traditional "2 pieces per order," which makes it more difficult to get a lot of variety in your order.
It's great having a sushi place that delivers close by, and it's not as though we actively disliked the food - but I wonder: is the neighborhood yuppified enough to support two sushi joints???
