Tacconelli's, What Is the Fuss?

Ordered a half and half pizza -- cheese and white, no toppings, b/c I like to first try the pies without.

White Slices: Horrible. Why everyone is recommending these is beyond me. I love garlic as much as anyone, but the slices were overspiced and it overwhelmed the rest of the pizza. It basically tasted like garlic bread. The garlic was not fresh, but was a powder. The cheese was nothing that one couldn't buy from the corner supermarket.

Tomato Slice: Good, not great. Sauce was a tomato paste, very sweet. Cheese was seemingly all mozzerella. Crust was the best part of the pie. Moderately charred, nice crunch. Otherwise, just your average, slice of pizza. Cheese was no where near the freshness and creaminess of what you get at Grimaldi's or Pepe's.

All in all, disappointed.
