A few co-workers and myself tried the buffet at a late hour (after 1pm) last Wednesday. Even though we arrived late when the food had been "brewing" atop the blue flames for some time, we were generally satisfied with the quality of the food. BTW - My Taiwanese born friend said that the Hot & Sour was the best he has had since he has been in America. He has been living in the States for about 15 years and now resides in the Bay Area. He also mentioned that the key to a tasty Hot & Sour is the perfect balance b/w the "Hot" & the "Sour". Akin to Yin & Yang?
I know Chowhounds aren't too keen on buffets, but during the lunch hour it is most often more convenient than ordering off the menu.
What are others opinions on Szechuan? Any suggestions for other Chinese close to State & Kinzie (border of River North and the northside of the Loop)?
