My class went to Symposium for our farewell dinner on Friday. I was dreading it, partly because Greek restaurants (as opposed to Greek cuisine) are not known to be veg-friendly, partly because of the nasty reviews my Chowhound search unearthed.
I was pleasantly surprised.
No, it wasn' t the best meal of my life, but I wish I'd tried this place earlier in the year.
The pita bread and tzatziki were great (though make sure to keep the bread covered, it dries out fast), as was the flambéed halloumi. I ordered one of their veg plates - they have a whole section - and got nicely steamed veg, not too cooked; creamy spinach rice; and a sizeable slab of veg pastizio. I actually couldn't finish the last two because it was so filling.
The "Greek sangria" is def. worth a try.
The atmosphere is warm and the staff is friendly. We got great service, even though we were a large group.
All in all, a very pleasant experience in a decent neighborhood joint.
