Sustainable Seafood

The Monterey Aquarium has just released its quarterly update of seafood that can be eaten without endangering any species. They kicked it off with an event headedby Alice Waters in which several chefs prepared dishes from sustainable seafood. They have a free card, that they will mail to anyone with categories of AVOID, Proceed With Caution, and Best Choices. Avoid has Chilean Sea Bass, Monkfish( sorry ankimo fans), Sea Scallops, and Farmed Atlantic Salmon among others on it.

Proceed with Caution has Imitation Crab, King and Snow Crab, American Lobster sob),Yellowfin and Ahi Tuna.

Best Choices include Farmed Abalone,Pacific Halibut,Sand Dabs,Wild Salmon (CA or AK), and Albacore Tuna.
