New sushi & thai place in Albany

Hello all,

For anyone who likes Thai and/or Sushi, my husband and I had a delightful lunch at a new place on Central Avenue the other day. It is called "Mino Shushi & Thai Restaurant" and is located at 1558 Central Avenue in Colonie (perhaps a half mile west of Wolf Road).

The service was excellent. Gracious, friendly and efficient. The food was also terrific. All fresh ingredients, well prepared. We both enjoyed it more than Bankok Thai on Wolf Road.

Since it was our first time there we stuck with the basics. We tried a California roll, two bowls of soup (miso and tom ka), green curry with seafood and red curry with beef. All was fresh and delicious. We ordered hot tea and received two big mugs that the waitress kept filled and hot. The entire thing cost $25 for the two of us and we had enough leftovers for lunch the next day.

One thing to note; for the Thai dishes, they ask you what degree of spiciness you would like. We ordered very spicy and were very happy, but unlike some of the other thai places around, this really was **very spicy**. So, if you usually straddle the fence between medium and hot, go with medium. The waitress even put a little put of chili sauce on the table in case we wanted it hotter.
