Sushi Help

So, I don't frequently go out for sushi, mostly because my partner-in-crime isn't that into it. When I lived in New York and felt the need (and could convince her to come and/or let me pay) we would go to Yasuda. I enjoyed it very much. She tolerated it.

I will be coming up to New York in January and was thinking about taking my little sister out to dinner. She loves sushi, but has never been to anywhere better than her local neighborhood place. I think that she would enjoy the experience of sitting at one of the city's better sushi bars and experiencing omakase service.

I have read all of the recent posts, but wanted to know what folks suggested.

Neither of us are big drinkers (perhaps a glass or two of sake each or a bottle to split) and I would like to keep the total bill, including tip and tax, under $300 (or $150/person). My initial thought was 15 East, but I am not sure we could pull it off for that price without being overly conscious of what we are spending.

Thanks so much!
