SuRa -- Great new Korean in East Village

I tried this place for lunch today with a friend. They have a lot of good lunch deals. Before you order they bring steaming cups of corn tea to the table, which they refill throughout the meal.
I tried the bibimbob + kimchi stew, where they give you a small portion (plenty big) of bibimbob and a separate bowl of kimchee stew on the side for $11 or $12. The kimchee stew was incredibly flavorful, beefy and peppery, with lots of red pepper flakes, little bits of beef, fiddlehead ferns and rice cakes among the ingredients.
Service is warm and friendly and the space is well-decorated. It's been open two months and was fairly empty, possibly because of the cold, or maybe because it's on a dead block.
They make their own soju infused with various roots such as ginseng and different fruits such as pineapple. We tried a shot of three different kinds. My favorite was the root that she didn't know the name of in English, but to me it tasted it bit like taro.
Go try it.
