Holiday period is best time for me for good breakfasts--kids are home from college, easy parking, time for a big meal at 11:00 AM or 12 noon.
So the past two days let me sample once again the two best breakfasts in the borough--Tom's with crab cakes in Prospect Heights, and Carolina Country Kitchen for cheese grits and beef sausage with sage on Atlantic Avenue in East New York. Carolina is still hanging in there across the street from where they used to be even though they lost their larger space--an old gas station that is now a Dunking Donuts.
Mostly you take out at Carolina, although there still is a small table.
Either place a good stop if you are driving back to Brooklyn from Kennedy in the morning.
