Vidalia lives! Was grabbing some birdseed from the pet store when I saw the phoenix risen from the ashes! At the old Vidalia location is a super Foodtown! I always loved the layout and some of the items at Vidalia and I got to walk through those doors again tonite! They only opened last week. I was starving and had no idea what to do about dinner about eight thirty tonite when I strolled in there and got chicken pot pie with a puff pastry crust (at 2.00 a pound reduced price due to the lateness of the hour) and a few pieces of fried chicken (reduced to 2.99 a pound) I Both from the hot foods section couldn't resist a garlic parm herb foccacia for 2.99 as well. Nibbling on everything now, and it is all tasty and fresh. Later I'll try the parfait I grabbed from the bakery. The beer is gone. /cry. As are the computers from the upstairs lounge. But the big screen tv remains. Boo! I'm delighted to see that big space not going to waste. Now if they would just reopen the old Clemens in Lansdale as well. That place was the heart of Lansdale and employed so many senior citizens and handicapped people that I'm sure Lansdale is still reeling from that great loss. I plan to hit Foodtown often while the quality and service both still have that freshly opened bling!
