We arrive Sat. Feb. 1 for 6 1/2 days, 7 nights, first timers to NOLA. Feb. 2 is our 10th anniversary. So, we made reservations for that day for the jazz brunch at 12:30 at Commander's Palace. However, that leaves us thinking we won't want a big, heavy meal for dinner, so we're going to save having our higher end dinner for another evening.
We're wondering if any of you have ideas of where we might go for more of a soup/salad or otherwise light meal, that would have some amount of romantic atmosphere, and not be filled with people watching the Super Bowl!
We're baseball and basketball fans, not football at all, and in fact the Super Bowl falling on our anniv. made us think this might be an easy night to get a dinner reservation somewhere that would otherwise be difficult. But we decided to stick with the CP jazz brunch idea as it sounds very special.
We're completely open to non-NOLA ethnic food places (Vietnamese, Indian, etc.) if such a place would fit the bill, since we figure we'll be eating NOLA type food all week long.
Thanks in advance for any help!
