Suggestions for private dining?

my fiance and I have been looking for a restaurant for our wedding party ... our group has extremely varied tastes and appetites and assorted dietary restrictions. We're looking for something formal (or at least semi-formal) and quiet but not stuffy (and definitely not pretentious or trendy) with a private room that can accommodate up to 35-40 people. Of course, the food has got to be good, but location and service and ambience are all key, too. I've done a search on chowhound and various other sites and have narrowed it down to the following:

Library Grill
L'Espalier
Federalist
Icarus
Sandrine's
Harvest
Maison Robert
Clio

Can anyone help me narrow this search a bit? Any places I should avoid for any reasons (bad service, hidden costs, unaccommodating, etc.)? I've visited most of them, but of course they're all very gracious and promise a world of fine dining experience, but I'd like to get the customer's point of view...
Thank you so much for any help you can offer me!
