We were in the area Saturday evening and decided to eat there for a quick snack after a long long walk all over the plateau on that beautiful sunny day.
I remembered having lunch there many years ago and had a decent dim sum right off the steamer. Not this time.....
I asked for for shrimp dim sum (har kao) and my wife took the gerneral tao chicken. We are not expecting great food since this more like a fast food style where all the plates are already cooked and on display in a fridge where they scoop the portion you want and nuked the food in their microwaves.
What we got was just unacceptable. My dim sum although microwaved were just dried out and part of the crust was hard. I didn't eat them, my wife general tao was so microwaved that it turn into mushy elastics. Then....That's where it hit me, that in top of that you had that odd smell and it was the plastic container that probably released its own flavors of the chicken. I'll remember to have food heated in a plastic free container next time I visit a similar place.
So if you want to be served a half decent meal, make sure you go around lunch time when the food is cooked and served within minutes. Or maybe order a la carte not from the display.
what a shame because once it was acceptable and good food for lunch! Where has their quality control went?
They also have a sushi bar in there but with the experience we had, very reluctant to even dare try a sushi from them.
