Stickey's BBQ, Teaneck

A friend took us to Stickey's last night. I don't recall reading about it here. Anyone else know it?

I REALLY liked it. I can't tell you whether it is traditional BBQ for any of the various traditions, but it is slow cooked on site with plenty of smoke. We tried fine pork ribs, chicken, brisket (which was highly rated by our friend from Kansas City), and pulled pork (which was sliced rather than shredded). Side dishes are good too. We tried coleslaw, hush puppies, corn bread, baked beans, and collards. The collards should have been more vinegary and they were made with uninteresting smoked turkey; but they were still good. One of our party had smoked tuna over a salad, with jerk sauce, and enjoyed it thoroughly.

Stickey's is at 1515 Teaneck Rd. in Teaneck. They serve soft drinks but you need to bring your own beer. Portions are enormous: Their mini-combo, two kinds of meat with two sides, is easily enough food for two hungry people.
