My husband is over there working again & I'd like to surprise him with some new gems (or old ones fine too!). We love love love Alan Wong's - especially the Chef's Counter, but want to do something different & have done Roy's & the usual suspects as he's over every month & I'm over 2-3 times a year.
Someone told me about Diamondhead Grill on Friday nights as I hear it turns into a big dance party - yes? no? We're mid-later 40's, but like to have fun - will we be the grandparents? Also heard food was ok for awhile, but now going downhill. Is this worth it for a fun evening?
Steve R. recommended Cafe Michele (or something like that) out towards Diamond Head?
Chef Mavro & think this will be a definite unless someone talks me out of it - any up to date input?
New Sansei at the Colony Surf? Better than the old one? Is there a 'sit & eat at the liquor bar' thing that you can do like at Kapalua?
Someone told me abut a new wine bar on Kalakaua a year or so ago, but I can't find any info...?
I enjoyed lunch at Indigo before - is it still good?
For a blow-out, would you do La Mer or Hoku's?
I've heard the L'Uraku chef left & opened a new tapas type place in Restaurant Row - I really hate going over there (we're at the Hyatt), but might if talked into it...
So many choices & only 4 nights!! Help me whittle down please.
Can't wait to hit the shrimp trucks - yummmmm!!!!
