I just want to added my .02 in about this appetizer I recently had in the last week. I went to 3 chain resturants and I was very disappointed as the days passed.
I went to TGI Fridays out in Manhasset. The dip was good, creamier than chunky but good. BTW, the ceasar was horrible. There was no dressing on the salad. It was just lettuce, stale bread and cheese.
Next day, it was Applebee's in Fresh Meadows. The Sampler had S&A dip so we ordered it. When it was served, it looked good but it tasted like creamed spinach. Edible but disappointing.
Yesterday, we went to Boulder Creek in College Point and ordered the S & A dip. When it was served, it looked like it exploded. It was all over the bowl dripping everywhere. When I ate it, it was runny, ok ,didn't think much of it. When I had the artichoke, it was HORRIBLE. It was a huge quartered marinated artichoke that broke the chip if you were even able to scoop it onto the chip. It was SOUR. Yes I understand that it is sour when it is marinated but dont use in a dip. After that, I realized that the dip tasted like it was spoiled. Sour tasting artichokes in a CREAMY dip equates to the thought of spoiled milk. NEVER AGAIN that I will be ordering S&A dip from these places.
