Special Quesadilla

Like-Go-Eat? | Feb 16, 2006 03:39 PM

I had a “Special Quesadilla” today. It has been a number of years since I had one and as I was driving buy this morning I recalled having one on Garfield near the 60 in Montebello years ago. The place I use to get them was in San Dimas (The Spot) but that place is long gone – Death by Development. A Special Quesadilla begins like any Regular Quesadilla – a large flour tortilla filled with some cheese and grilled until slightly browned and the cheese is melted. Add some salsa and – Yum! The Special Quesadilla has something more inside. First comes pastrami (salty pastrami) the way you just gotta have it sometimes. Then they add some fresh guacamole, tomatoes and small cut up onion. They also put some lettuce inside and I have still not made up my mind whether I will have that next time – maybe, it was good. I really enjoyed eating this two-fisted meal. All this was $2.95. I had some coffee and still got a handful of change back from my $5 dollar bill. I got this great meal at J&S across from the Jack-in-the Box on N. Garfield just off the side of the 60 Fry. I also noticed a “Taguito Dog” on the menu for $1.65. For that price I will give it a try sometime. I assume it is a deep fried dog wrapped in a corn tortilla – not sure. But I hear that deep fried dogs are good. Anyome?
