Southwest NY at Battery Park City

I wasn't expecting much and that's what I got, but the setting was beautiful at North Cove facing the Hudson at sunset.

The tortilla soup was tasty, but then they brought out my burger. I ordered it medium and it was gray all the way through. The brioche it was on started to crumble and fall apart as soon as I picked it up, and the house cheese was nearly tasteless. If you have ever had the misfortune to eat a burger at a Howard Johnson's on a turnpike then you know exactly what this tasted like. At HoJo's in the good old days they used to precook the burgers and then flash fry them when ordered. I don't know if that's what Southeast does but they sure have captured the taste of it.
