Any opinions or background from you all on South Sea Village restaurant on 14th and Irving?
I was invited to go once for dim sum and thought the food was pretty good. I should have been concentrating on the food, but I was taken by the elaborate decorations (gold detail, crystal chandeliers, classic chinese paintings on the walls, the silk chipaus of the hostesses) and the apparent attention paid to making the place look like an upscale banquet locale. We were seated in one of the private rooms on the second floor because we had a party of 10, but from what I could see the restaurant was completely packed on that Sat. and the diners were almost all Chinese or Asian.
As an invited guest I didn't see the menu or the bill, but from the expression on the face of another person in our party when he glanced at the bill I suspect that the prices are comparatively high at this establishment.
Has anyone else had dim sum or dinner here? What did you think of your experience?
