Sourdough - where to find the real thing in LA?

Zoe | Jun 12, 2006 12:17 PM

After an otherwise successful foray to Vons at National and Motor and waxing lyrical about Cesar in the Fruit dept. giving samples of everything - I was pretty impressed by the bread selection: Rye bread from the famous Fred's Bakery on Robertson and (for me) a couple of new sour doughs, but with the Von's label. Sorry to say, they weren't sour and were doughy to boot. However the big find was the crab legs for $9.99 - had a feast after bathing the little darlings in a sea salt bath. Chowpup who has a major additction for these legs said they tasted as fresh as can be.
