My aunt is a homesteader out in Montana and gets all of her milk from a local dairy, totally unprocessed, just in a large Mason jar usually. She skims it herself and makes her own butter. When I return to Manhattan in the fall, I would really like to start making my own butter and yogurt. I know that you can buy unhomogenized and even raw milk from Whole Foods but I am sort of more interested in a direct from the source solution. Does anyone have any ideas? Which greenmarkets have the best dairy?
