Snacky, the little izakaya lounge on Grand Street in Williamsburg, started serving weekend brunch as of today.
Full disclosure: I've become friends with owners Sandy and Tony Pei, but my tounge is unbiased and have to say it was pretty darn good.
I think there were six menu items to choose from. I had the ginger braised pork chop and my friend had this toasted sesame bread with eggs and chinese sausage. I liked mine more, but I wasn't in an egg mood. There was also a korean beef bbq, dumplings, scallion pancake and something else. It's $7 and comes with tea or coffee. Best part for me was the sides that come with them... a little portion of yaki soba, some mixed sauteed vegetables and a potato pancake. Not many american breakfast choices, but it was good.
I'm a big fan of Snacky and it's my local hangout in the WB and their brunch is a nice addition to the crowded choices in the neighborhood.
