Here are some tricks I use in New York:
1) PIZZA PIE
Order 8 slices (not a pie) from your local pizzeria. Gives you more topping variety and it arrives much more quickly than a new pie
2) PIZZA SLICE
During high traffic times (lunch, dinner), order your slices "cold," which means they don't get heated up. The slice will be warm and not scalding hot and ready to eat immediately.
3) PRE-THEATER EMERGENCY
Eat at the bar at Marseille. You have access to the full menu, it's never crowded, the food is great, and you're close to most theaters.
4) GETTING A TOUGH TABLE/REGULAR
For your first time, eat at the bar (an easy table to get). As you leave, tip the maitre d' ($20-$50), thank them, and get their name. They'll remmeber your face if you come back within a month and ask for them. Keep tipping each time you leave. Eventually, they might give you the private number.
