Because I couldn't get my husband out of Le Pichet, we had two breakfasts there, and one late-night post-extra-innings game meal.
It's the only place I'll pay $4 for a cup of yogurt. Exceptional, with honeyed walnuts. The cafe au lait is perfect, and only $2. Hubby may never see ham & eggs the same again after having their baked eggs, jamon & gruyere. And my brioche, fresh from the oven: oh boy.
Light dinner was pate on bread for him, chevre pour moi. Avec cornichons. (Mariners lost; I ate many peanuts from a stand outside the park that roasts them right in front of you. Very wonderful & only $3.50 for a huge sack.)
We also had a snappy meal at Flying Fish. Service was mixed: Snappy because the waiter snapped when we failed to order an app. Oh please. We have to explain now when we don't want to overeat? The portions there are huge. (The entrees were yummy perfect; much forgiven, I suppose.)
Rest. Zoe next time, when we want to get all gussied up & look super snappy ourselves.
