I'd previously talked about Taste Paradise (http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/818815) which has, IMO, totally eclipsed Crystal Jade Palace @ Ngee Ann City in serving the *best* HK-style dim sum in Singapore.
Satisfying my almost bossesive love for "char-siu polo bao" by Tim Ho Wan, HK's ridiculously popular Michelin-starred cramped, crowded eatery (my, my, the French has *really* loosened their hoity-toity standards) had always meant a 3.5 hour flight to HK, followed by a trudge to Sham Shui Po to queue outside the hole-in-the-wall for their pillowy-soft "polo bao" buns with crisp, sweet Mexican bun crusts filled with super-caramelly "char-siu" BBQ pork filling.
These days, I don't have to do it anymore: Taste Paradise has come up with their version, which tasted every bit as delicious as its Tim Ho Wan counterpart. Had a couple of these buns during dim sum lunch today :-)
