I ended up at Taiwan Cafe on Sat. night instead of at Cambodian in Revere (Floating Rock closes at 7, thanks Galleygirl, it was good that I called). Taiwan Cafe was obviously not disappointing, had crispy tofu, pork with mustard greens and bean curd (amazing as usual), and the sauteed shrimp with scallions.
The shrimp dish was delicious, little shrimps sauteed in a simple clear/white sauce, with scallions, the sauce had a light, salty flavor but you could really taste the shrimp.
This type of shrimp dish is common in Cantonese restaurants as well I think, and I want to know where I should go (and which dish i should order) to have the best, simple sauteed shrimp in Boston's chinatown (or elsewhere, i suppose). Money is a factor as well (I want good quality at not too great a price). Taiwan Cafe did pretty well, probably 40 small shrimps for 11.95, and they were cooked perfectly! I have had shrimp at Grand CHau Chow before as well, and have been happy. Where is best?
