The Simple Necessities of Life: Fries And Chicken Parmigiana

I live in the west village, much like Mr. Trillan who lives a couple blocks away on Grove, and I was shocked and horrified to see when I passed by my local Belgian-Fry Hut, Le Frite Kot, they were closed at noon on a Tuesday! I do not know if this means they have changed their hours, or if they're out of business, but anyhoo, it aroused my curiosity, after reading Mr. Trillan's article, that perhaps, I could find out about two of the food items that I am passionate about. So, Ladies and Gentlemen, I have a simple question to ask, where may I find the best Fries and Chicken Parmigiana in New York? I think probably for the fries I'd be willing to go in Manhattan only because I live there, unless the really amazing place is in Brooklyn, somewhere accessible to me. However, on the matter of Chicken Parmigiana, The outer bouroughs, I'd assume by all means would have the better, but it is worth asking in the Manhattan form to get a sense of if the best is easily reachable by me. Thanks in advance, Nick F.
