Sichuan Delight

Thanks to captainzen we followed up his lead on this new Sichuan place in Redwood City.

Three of us gave it a try today. Mrs. y and RWCFoodie.

The selections made by captainzen were not really Sichuan style dishes not all that we ordered were either but we were are to try at least couple of dishes of nonCantonese dishes.

The listing of weekend specials of soy milk and so forth will not be available until next weekend. The food we had today made this worth at least one more trip.

We started with Sizzling rice soup. Very large shrimp and fresh seafood. But they use a package pre fried rice paddy. I personally like freshly fried rice for this soup. But it was very good.

I order the Loin's Head, really good with some nice fresh Chinese vegtables as well as canned baby bamboo shoots.

Tofu skin wraps with a vegetable filling over a bed od spinach.

This is the only really Sichuan dish we order. Hot and spicy Pork Kindey's the dish was spicy without being over spiced. They also used Chinese celery which was a nice touch.

To finish I order a mochi ball sweet soup. But they were out and gaves a free pumpkin mochi cake filled with bean paste.

I found the service good and timely without being pushy. Also I asked if this was enough and was told the turth.

Since there are a few other hounds in Redwood City area maybe we could give it a try for dinner some night soon.

By the way the staff mostly spoked Mandrain which is a good sign if we want Northern Chinese food.
