Sham in s.m. (quick review)

looking for something "new" (to us) for lunch tdy in s.m. & hv been meaning to try this place. we intended to get take out, but when we walked in the door, decided to eat in. nice room (groovy music, but a little loud).

i had a small falafel sandwich (they also offer a larger size). friend had a sandwich w/ ground lamb, grilled inside pita. he got the combination, which included salad and a side of hummus and what looked to be yogurt. he loved it. i really enjoyed my falafel. bread is baked to order -- so fresh, warm, chewy -- wonderful!!!

we also got 2 "out of the oven" items (about $1.50 each), called "fateira" or something like that. mine was filled w/ spinich, ground walnuts and pomegranite (just a touch). AMAZING!!! the pomegranite was subtle, but added a sweet / tart element that was just incredible. my friend got the cheese filled version -- filled w/ a tangy, feta type cheese and some herbs. these took a little longer to get -- baked to order -- same amazing freshly baked dough around the fillings.

total bill was about $20 (included 2 iced teas). love this place and can't wait to go back. i don't eat meat, so cannot smpl many things on the menu which is pretty meat heavy, but if what i ate is an indication of their cooking, i'd bet everything is very good.
