Shad Roe

My oh my, how I love it. And the time is now, not later to be able to have it---very seasonal.

Ordered shad roe for lunch at Sansom Street Oyster House last week. $12.95. Got boring after a while--not crisp. Liked it anyway.

Also last week, lunching at the sushi bar at Fuji's in Cinnaminson, noticed shad roe as a seasonal appetizer. Died and gone to heaven. $6.50 portion was adequate as an appetizer, but licked the plate to get all the scraps. Crisp, super dipping sauce; could have ordered this as a main dish.

What are your favorite sites? Also, where can one order 1/2 and 1/2: the shad itself, accompanyied by shad roe? (Less cholesterol guilt, and I do love shad also)
