Sel De La Terre

We LOVED Sel De La Terre. Food, service and atmosphere were all amazing. We were seated at this tiny romantic corner table. Since it was a corner we got to sit close together on a comfy leather couch. The bread was irrisistable...all different kinds sliced very thinly served w the creamiest butter I ever had. The bread came in handy later too to soak up the incredible sauces that came w our food.We split some mussels that were in this heavenly sauce. Hubs had Arctic char and I had ...ready? cod cheeks. For me, the sauces are what makes this food so delicious. Although the char was very good and anyplace else we would have considered outstanding ,the sauce in that dish lacked the depth and complexity of flavor we found in the cod dish and the mussels. Lots of carmelized fennel and some tiny beans in mine. The mussels were in a warm ,curry-fennel sauce w crispy noodles. Portions were very decent and we ate so much bread there was absolutely no room for dessert. Surprisingly the bill was under $100. We found parking in front of the Meridian Hotel so it was nice to walk after dinner. Was such a beautiful night we walked up to Fanuel Hall and hung out a bit too. A succussful birthday evening!!
