Despite some misgivings due to the board, took my extended family to LP last Sunday. It was fantastic! The hacked chicken, the dan dan noodles--we didn't (couldn't) stop eating.
Even though we were a mixed group (yes, my father in law ordered the won ton soup, almost giving the waiter a heart attack) they were very accomodating.
1. call ahead and ask if the "big chef" is working tonight. He's the man.
2. if you can get Paul as your waiter, do so!
3. Mention Jim's name and tell them you're a chowhound. (yes, this really worked).
4. They like to serve banquet style... just a few dishes at a time. It takes longer, but I went with the flow.
I was blown away by the place.
