Seattle - New Sichuan Place in Greenwood

Ate at the new Sichuan restaurant in Greenwood last night (85th & Greenwood). It's called "Seven Stars" or "Seven Spices" (sorry, don't remember which) and across the street form Gorditos. Not too bad if you are looking for some better fare than your standard Americanized Chinese food.

We had the Gong Bao (Kung Pao) Chicken. OK -- but not much ooomph to it and the Pork and hot peppers -- good -- they actually used hot peppers! They also have pull and shaved noodles, as well as hot pot -- neither of which I had, but saw some people eating it and it looked pretty good. Nothing like a boiling pot of hot pepper broth and a plate of raw meat in the summertime to get those sweat glands going!

This place could not touch Sicuan Cuisine in Redmond, but, as I said, it's more authentic and better than most Chinese joints around. A good option for all of you bargain/greasyspoon chowhounds if the line for Gorditos is too long.
