Thanks for the Seattle feedback folks. Here is my quick rundown...
Shiros: I thought the sushi was good and fresh, but didn't blow my mind. I was curious and tried geoduck which was pretty darn good. But, I had a terrible tummy ache the next morning for a while, and can't know for sure if it was related. It just seemed forgettable, but I also didn't do the omakase like I should have.
Union: I thought it was up there with one of my best meals ever. We had a truly great server who threw in some bonus tastes of wines for us, and was the perfect balance of professional, informed yet not stuffy at all. Almost every dish was food perfection. Standouts were the fluke, the lobster salad I had and the rabbit canneloni. James Bear nomination is well-deserved and some nay-sayers are full of it. I would count this as a "must" if I returned.
Matt's in the Market: I did lunch here, and don't get the hype. The catfish sandwich was good, but really?! all this praise for it? I am in the market, I would think I would get a few more seafood choices than the few I had. Sort of a let down...
Quinn's: I really liked the place, and am going to have craving for that wild boar sloppy joe that will make me want to hop a plane back to Seattle. I love the setting. But, I had a server who seemed bored and was hard to flag down and get to help us. We were excited about dessert and it took him so long to come take our order that once he got there we just gave up and got the check and left.
