Need Help in Seattle and Outer Areas

We will be visiting your area July 2-16. We really, really want to find interesting, unique, well prepared food. We prefer somewhat casual places, can be bistro in feel or hole in the wall (as long as out-of-towners are acceptable).

Our kids just moved from Boston to Issaquah. In addition to visiting them, and going into Seattle, we plan to drive up Whidbey Island, spend the night in Coupeville, then continue North to Rt. 11 along the Chuckanut Drive, spending our second night out in Bellingham.

We would like suggestions for interesting food on this trip. We did read about some interesting oyster places close to Bow, and a restaurant called Wild Garlic in Bellingham.

We will drive back to Issaquah down Interstate 5.

We also plan day trips: Rt. 2 to Leavenworth, and returning via Interstate. 90; And, a day trip to Mt. Rainier, probably to on #410 and back on #7.

Any suggestions for interesting stops--food or scenery on any of these trips, or perhaps even alternative drives.

We had a wonderful trip to Seattle six years ago. We loved the food. Places that come to mind were the Wild Ginger, Painted Table, the restaurant in the Inn at the Market, Watson's Oyster Bar, and several great hole in the wall places.

Our time and budget are somewhat more limited now, but we won't let that stop us if we get some outstanding recommendations.

Much thanks,

rlc
