My wife and I are coming to Manhattan for New Years this year: neither of us has ever been. I'm interested to hear what you would recommend if you were looking for Italian food (not casual but not too dressy) for New Year's Eve dinner that would accomodate dinner and a few drinks for $100-$150 a person? Or is this being unreasonable for location and event?
In the case of being unreasonable, what would you recommend (no holds barred) for New Years Eve dinner and drinks?
A few things I have learned so far are:
1)Midtown is full of tourists (so only touristy restaurants?)
2)It will be nearly impossible to grab a taxi on New Years night (so looking for something on Manhattan island)
3)There are a plethura of Italian restaurants of all shapes and flavors on Manhattan island.
Thank you for any suggestions you can make. We're both looking very forward to the experience.
