A family member of a friend has been diagnosed with cancer. In relation to treatment [and I don't know what that is], they have been told to only eat organic produce/food. They know to shop at the farmer's markets, Whole Foods and the like but are looking for restaurants for when they just don't feel like cooking and want to go out for the evening.
The key is that the food at the restaurant is all organic, or at least that some dishes are and that the restaurant will disclose whether a dish is or isn't made with all organic ingredients. I'm not sure whether the need for organic is limited to produce and meat or whether it extends down to the flour and oil level.
While you might think you could go to any "vegetarian" or "health food" restaurant, you'd be wrong. They've tried those sort of places and the people at the restaurants can't tell them that they use all organic produce, meat, etc. or identify what they use that is organic.
They are looking for restaurants on the Westside or in the Valley. I seem to recall that Lucques and Angelli Caffe [both on Melrose] buy their produce at the farmer's markets and use organic stuff but I'm not sure. Are there any 'hounds out there willing to share their knowledge in this area?
