In search of good sushi and Thai food in SF

I'll be in town for a couple of days in January (sans car) and was hoping to find some truly fantastic sushi/Japanese and Thai food. (Independent of each other.)

For Sunday night, I wanted to try Ino Sushi, but it appears they are closed that evening. Other places that piqued my interest were KISS Sushi, Jimisan, and Koo. I'm pretty much look for the best sushi San Fran has to offer that won't destroy my bank account. (So if SF has the equivalent of NYC's Masa, forget about it - I'm thinking no more than $100 for an omakase, though I don't particularly need to do a chef's tasting...)

Also, any Thai restaurants to rival NY's Sripriphai or the new Kittichai? (In other words, what's the best Thai, be it fancy or hole in the wall...)

Many thanks from this Brooklyn hound...
